about

The tango originated in Latin-America, more specifically in Argentina and Uruguay. Soon after it's birth the tango came to Europe and became also popular there. Many European composers were captivated by the tango and started to write tangos themselves. On this cd, tangos from Latin-America and from Europe can be heard. Great tango composers from Argentina, like Astor Piazzolla, Osvaldo Pugliese and Horacio Salgan have been connected to their European colleagues like Isaac Albeníz, Igor Stravinsky and Kurt Weil.
