about

Mignone wrote 124 waltzes and the writer Manuel Bandeiro called him “The King of the Waltz”. His most famous waltzes are the 12 Valsas de Esquina which he wrote in his young years. They were inspired by the serenades played on every street corner of São Paulo by small groups of violin, flute and cavaquinho, a small four-stringed guitar.
